Other Research Opportunities

Please check out these additional research opportunities in the labs of our collaborators and colleagues who are conducting similar clinical translational research.

Are you passionate about clinical neuroscience, perception, and mental health? We’re recruiting!

The Brain, Body, and Perception Lab https://bbp.lab.utoronto.ca/ at the University of Toronto and the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is looking for motivated Master’s or PhD students to join our research program starting in Fall 2025 or Winter 2026.

Our work focuses on the neural and behavioral mechanisms underlying perception and emotion in psychiatric disorders—particularly those involving body image disturbance, obsessions, and compulsions such as body dysmorphic disorder, eating disorders, and OCD. We use a range of methods, including:

🧠 Functional and structural neuroimaging

👁️ Psychophysics and eye-tracking

🧍🏽‍♀️ 3D digital tools developed in-house

 🧮 Computational modeling

Several of our projects bridge basic and translational science, with the aim of developing novel, neuroscience-informed treatments.

We have recently received new funding for exciting upcoming projects—and are now inviting applications for graduate students to join our team.

The BEAM study (R01MH131595), led by Dr. Scott Murray (https://www.murraybrainlab.com) and Dr. Sara Jane Webb (https://depts.washington.edu/pbslab/wordpress/), will be seeking a full-time Research Coordinator and a full-time Research Assistant to begin in late summer or early fall 2025.

The study investigates the neural mechanisms underlying sensory and perceptual processing in autistic adults, with a particular focus on attention and spatial processing. Research methods include structural and functional MRI, EEG, eye tracking, and behavioral assessments. These positions are ideal for individuals interested in gaining experience with neuroimaging and working with neurodivergent populations.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting in MRI, EEG, eye tracking, and behavioral data collection
  • Managing participant recruitment and scheduling
  • Programming visual experiments in MATLAB and/or Presentation
  • Data processing, analysis, and database management
  • Supporting general lab operations and maintaining participant records

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Psychology, Neuroscience, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Prior research experience, ideally with human subjects
  • Experience with autism populations is a plus
  • Experience with neuroimaging preferred

To express interest before the official posting, please send a CV/resume and a short cover letter to:
Dr. Scott Murray – somurray@uw.edu

Dr. Sara Jane Webb – sjwebb@uw.edu

When formally posted, a link to the application website will be posted.
